Complex industrial plants are plants in which the electrical separation of protection and grounding systems by means of insulating pieces and separating spark gaps is not feasible. All metallically conductive plant components and installations are connected directly to the grounding system. Thus the entire grounding system including all building foundations is integrated in the cathodic protection. A much larger protective current requirement is necessary. Galvanic elements are created between the objects to be protected and the reinforced concrete foundations, which adversely affect the plant components to be protected. In order to solve complex requirements in a technically and economically optimal way, we use our software package -CP-CALC- when planning cathodic protection systems.
